Editorial Statement
Transcriptions
Documents were transcribed using images of original material. Any gaps or uncertain readings of text are marked accordingly within brackets. When a best guess is provided, a [?] appears after the word in the transcription.
Some documents have been excerpted when necessary in order to provide a concise and accessible version for educational purposes. Minor corrections to spelling and punctuation have also been made sporadically for this same reason. Documents that have been excerpted are identified in the metadata and by eclipses within the text.
Metadata
The metadata for all materials has been entered using a custom vocabulary we created based on our needs, combining elements from the Dublin Core, Friend of a Friend, and Bibliographic Ontology vocabularies. Our custom vocabulary is available with other technical information pertaining to the creation of the OER.
